Commencement 2026 Important Information: Ticketing & Tassel
Dear Sonoma State University Graduating Class of 2026,
Congratulations, you’re almost there! We are excited to share this milestone with you and provide important details for your 2026 Commencement ceremonies.
Preparations are underway for your Commencement ceremonies at the Green Music Center on Saturday, May 23, 2026, and Sunday, May 24, 2026. Please check the Commencement website frequently for information regarding the ceremonies and for additional graduation celebrations that will take place leading up to Commencement. Below is the schedule for Commencement ceremonies with additional information about ticketing, Tassel (name reading platform), and regalia. You can find a detailed list of all academic majors for each ceremony online.

Register Your Name with Tassel (Deadline: April 20)
Sonoma State University partners with Tassel to ensure your name is read correctly during the Commencement ceremony. You will receive an email from [email protected] via tassel.com with your unique link to register.
Please complete your registration before Monday, April 20.
Claim Your Guest Tickets (Deadline: May 18 at 5 p.m.)
Tickets are only needed inside Weill Hall. Each graduate receives two (2) tickets for indoor seating in Weill Hall during the ceremony. Unlimited seating is available outside on the Weill Lawn for additional friends and family members.

Using the link above, click the SSU LOGIN button and log in with your SSU credentials. All eligible graduates will have the opportunity to claim their tickets until Monday, May 18 at 5 p.m. If you are having any issues with the link above, please be sure to clear any cache and log out of all existing browser logins.

Once claimed, tickets will be sent via email as a PDF document. This PDF can be forwarded to your friends and family for easy access. Each ticket will include a unique barcode that can only be used once. It's crucial to emphasize with friends and family that multiple prints of the same ticket will not be valid. Please ensure that guests are aware of this to avoid any inconvenience on the day of your ceremony.
There is unlimited seating outside on the Weill Lawn. Tickets are not needed for outdoor seating. Guests on the lawn will enjoy:
- A live broadcast on the outdoor Jumbotron
- High-quality audio so every name is heard
- Folding chairs will be available on the lawn for seating (first-come, first-served)
Important: Ticketed guests must be seated inside Weill Hall 15 minutes before the ceremony begins, or their seats will be forfeited.
A standby line will also be available for unclaimed seats inside Weill Hall. Entry is not guaranteed and is first come, first served.
Order Your Regalia
You can order your regalia online at the Herff Jones website.
For graduates who ordered their regalia online before March 20, distribution will begin May 1 at the University Store. Orders made online between February 2 and April 18 can have regalia shipped to an address of their choosing. After April 18, any graduate who would like to participate in the Commencement ceremony can obtain regalia through the bookstore beginning May 1, or pay to have their order shipped and expedited to their home by ordering through the website by May 2. The University Store will have plenty of caps, gowns, tassels, and other accessories, such as stoles and zipper pulls, until Friday, May 22. The University Store is located on the second floor of the Student Center.
If you anticipate graduating with honors and/or distinction, please confirm with your school before placing your order.
